Martha Inc.

"The story of Martha Stewart is the story of an extraordinary woman, who had the brains to recognize opportunities when they dropped in her lap...and how had the drive energy, and determination to turn them into unprecedented success in business..." ~ Christopher Byron

One of the books I am reading at the moment is "Martha INC. The incredible story of Martha Steward Living Omnimedia" by Christopher Byron. This book was published in 2002 and I have read it before. I am reading it again before I pass it on.

Do you ever come to a point where you realise you have books in your personal library that you haven't read in years? I have, and as part of my current de-cluttering phase I have decided to re-read these books and pass them on to others. I also have books that have been in my personal library that I have not yet read. So I will be making the effort over the next 12 months or so to read these as well.

  1. Sherri, we have way too many books here that my husband has picked up at garage sales and they will never be read. You can be sure though that if I put them in the Op Shop bin he is going to be looking for them :-) I still have some of my medical books from when I was nursing back in the 1970s. Obviously I need to declutter.

    1. I know what you mean Chel, my husband only has a few books, but he hasn't even picked them up in years. These Virgos though - they can be touchy about their gear. I am going to leave his books alone.

  2. As I use the library and only tend to read a book once my library is very meagre compared to yours. I do have a collection of Frank McCourt and Bryce Courtney books which I have read however can never part with.
My husband keeps everything and has a huge selection of school text books, reference books and some novels.

    1. I still have the first book I ever bought. I bought it when I was eight from a second hand shop that was on the next block from where I lived. It was from about the 1930's and was a 'Girls Own' type of book.

  3. Interesting plan... To re-read before de-cluttering. I only have a few special books, which I might re-read. Or have re-read.

    1. I have lots of books. I could easily buy more but I need to feel like I am in control of my book addiction :-)
