A Habit That Blesses

"But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither and they prosper in all they do". Ps 1: 2-3 NLT

Meditating on God's word helps me identify and break free from self-limiting perceptions. Meditating on God's word helps me develop constructive ways of thinking. I wish I could state that I read my Bible daily, but there are days I forget. So I pray to God to keep sending me reminders to read His word.

Affirmation: I give thanks for God's prospering power which is at work within me now.

  1. The things of this world have been tempting me lately - I mean the fear of bad things happening all around the world. (Tempting my leaves to wither). But it's often when we're in the belly of the whale, or surrounded by death, we appreciate the life and grace we've been given.

That's what I see in the bible passage you quoted: Trees focus on life, and the seasons to endure, to bear what they must. They don't focus on all the things that could stop them. So they respond to life, all the more readily. :)

    1. Chris my concern for the things going on in the world has been dragging on my energy and power lately . These hurricanes especially.......and if I lean on my own understanding I will never come to the end of the worry of it.

Your point about enduring what we must and not focusing on all the things that could stop one is very helpful to me, thank you.

  3. I truly appreciated your post today. I read the Bible daily (or, almost daily)...and I can honestly say that when I go wrong, He always "rights" me. He is my very best friend and Lord.
